Yesterday, I created a new favorite turkey burger with goat cheese, basil, and cherry tomatoes, that I decided to call Turkey Caprese Burgers, recipe below.
These burgers amongst berry and peach galettes (thanks to Smitten Kitchen for the inspiration), my Aunt Sandy’s cowboy caviar, grilled veggies, and many other tasty summer treats are making it across eager, empty plates this 4th of July weekend.
I’m thankful for large get together’s so I can get this baking and cooking craze out of my system and share my goods with the world.
Turkey Caprese Burgers
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 3 oz plain goat cheese crumbled
- 1/2 cup fresh basil chopped
- 3/4 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered or halved
- 1 TBS apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 TBS honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 TBS red pepper flake
Chop basil, quarter or halve tomatoes, and place into medium sized mixing bowl. Add ground turkey and remaining ingredients. Mix well with your hands. Form into 6 nice sized patties. Grill for 3-4 minutes on each side over medium-high heat. Enjoy!
